Description
The 330101-00-15-20-12-05 3300 XL 8 mm Proximity Probe is a high-performance eddy current transducer designed for industrial automation, predictive maintenance, and machinery condition monitoring. With a linear range of 2 mm (80 mils), it delivers a precise output voltage directly proportional to the distance between the probe tip and the conductive target, allowing accurate measurement of both static shaft position and dynamic vibration. The probe features an overall case length of 1.5 inches, a 2.0-meter FluidLoc extension cable, and a Miniature coaxial ClickLoc connector, providing robust signal integrity in demanding industrial environments.
This 8 mm XL probe operates reliably in temperatures ranging from -52°C to +177°C (-62°F to +350°F), has a supply sensitivity below 2 mV per volt, 50 Ω output resistance, and 69.9 pF/m cable capacitance, ensuring accurate measurements in high-vibration and extreme-temperature applications. Its 3/8-24 UNF threaded probe case with a maximum engagement of 0.563 inches allows secure mounting. Patented TipLoc and CableLoc designs provide 330 N (75 lbf) pull strength, enhancing mechanical reliability, while the optional FluidLoc cable prevents fluid ingress, maintaining measurement stability in lubricated machinery. Fully CSA, ATEX, and IECEx certified, the probe is API 670 compliant and backward-compatible with other 3300 series components, supporting modular and scalable automation systems.
Applications
Application 1: Turbine Vibration Monitoring
Monitors turbine shaft vibration in fluid-film bearings with high precision, detecting amplitude changes of less than 10 µm to prevent catastrophic failure.
Application 2: Pump Rotor Position Measurement
Measures static and dynamic rotor position in centrifugal and reciprocating pumps, improving alignment accuracy and reducing wear on bearings and seals.
Application 3: Compressor Speed and Phase Control
Provides Keyphasor reference signals for compressors, enabling real-time speed, phase, and timing measurements for optimized control and predictive maintenance.
Application 4: Industrial Gearbox Condition Monitoring
Monitors gear displacement and vibration in high-speed gearboxes, detecting early-stage misalignment or imbalance, reducing maintenance downtime by up to 30%.
Application 5: Oil-Lubricated Machinery Monitoring
The optional FluidLoc cable prevents oil leakage into the probe or surrounding equipment, maintaining consistent signal accuracy in continuous operation of lubricated systems.
