Description
The 330101-00-08-20-02-CN 3300 XL 8 mm Proximity Probe is a precision eddy current transducer specifically engineered for industrial automation and vibration monitoring applications. This 8 mm probe provides an output voltage that is directly proportional to the distance between the probe tip and a conductive surface, enabling high-accuracy measurement of both static (position) and dynamic (vibration) signals. It is ideally suited for fluid-film bearing machinery, automated equipment diagnostics, Keyphasor reference systems, and rotational speed measurement, delivering stable and reliable data to support predictive maintenance, process control, and machinery optimization.
This compact probe features a 0.8-inch case length, a 2.0-meter standard cable with a Miniature coaxial ClickLoc connector, and a 3/8-24 UNF threaded probe case with a 0.563-inch maximum thread engagement. The device operates in extreme temperatures from -52°C to +177°C (-62°F to +350°F) and has 50 Ω output resistance, 69.9 pF/m cable capacitance, and less than 2 mV/V supply sensitivity, ensuring accurate readings under harsh conditions. Weighing only 0.06 kg, with dimensions 1.8 x 1.6 x 123 cm, it supports CSA, ATEX, and IECEx approvals for safe operation in hazardous environments. The patented TipLoc and CableLoc design provides 330 N (75 lbf) pull strength, while optional FluidLoc cabling prevents fluid leakage, enhancing reliability in automated industrial systems. Fully API 670 compliant, it supports interchangeability with 3300 series probes and Proximitor sensors, enabling streamlined integration into existing automation setups.
Applications
Application 1: High-Speed Compressor Vibration Monitoring
The probe measures radial and axial vibration with a 2 mm linear range, providing real-time data for automated control systems to prevent unexpected machine failures.
Application 2: Shaft Position Tracking in Turbomachinery
Accurate displacement monitoring enables automated adjustment of thrust bearings and rotor alignment, improving efficiency and reducing maintenance downtime.
Application 3: Keyphasor Signal Reference
The 3300 XL 8 mm probe delivers phase-synchronized output for automated rotational speed monitoring, aiding in predictive maintenance and machinery diagnostics.
Application 4: Predictive Maintenance Systems
Integration with industrial monitoring platforms allows automated alerts based on vibration and position trends, reducing operational risk and improving equipment lifecycle management.
Application 5: Automated Overspeed and Safety Protection
Provides immediate rotational feedback for automated shutdown systems, ensuring protection of critical machinery in case of overspeed events.
