Description
The 31000-28-10-00-015-03-02 Proximity Probe Housing Assembly is a robust solution designed for precision mounting of 3300 XL 8 mm proximity probes in industrial automation and condition monitoring applications. Engineered for radial or axial installation, this housing provides external access to the probe and extension cable, allowing gap adjustments and probe replacements without disassembling machinery. Constructed from glass-reinforced polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) thermoplastic with conductive fibers, the housing offers excellent corrosion resistance and mechanical strength, making it suitable for harsh industrial environments.
The assembly includes stainless steel components such as AISI 304 retaining chains and AISI 303 outer sleeves with screws, as well as a neoprene O-ring for secure sealing. Certified Type 4X by CSA, it ensures protection against dust, water, and corrosive environments. Housing strength and impact resistance are verified under BASEEFA standards, surviving two 4 Joule impacts at temperatures from -39°C to 115°C. The assembly is compatible with various conduit fittings, including NPT adapters and cable seal grips accommodating multiple cable diameters.
When combined with approved 3300 XL transducers and I.S. barriers, this housing assembly fully complies with API 670 standards for externally mounted proximity probe housings and supports intrinsically safe applications in hazardous areas. Its design guarantees repeatable, accurate position and vibration measurements, critical for predictive maintenance, rotor monitoring, and Keyphasor signal generation.
Applications
1. Vibration Monitoring in Rotating Machinery
Supports precise radial probe installation for measuring shaft vibration on turbines, compressors, and pumps, reducing unplanned downtime.
2. Keyphasor Reference Signal Generation
Provides stable and repeatable mounting for Keyphasor probes, essential for phase-synchronized monitoring and advanced diagnostics.
3. Easy Probe Maintenance and Replacement
External access allows adjustments or probe replacement without disassembling the machine, minimizing maintenance time and costs.
4. Hazardous Zone Operation
CSA Type 4X certification and I.S. compliance enable use in explosive or corrosive industrial environments.
5. Corrosion and Impact Resistant Applications
PPS housing and stainless steel components withstand chemical exposure, temperature fluctuations, and mechanical impact up to 4 Joules at -39°C to 115°C.
