Constructed from glass-reinforced Polyphenylene Sulfide (PPS) thermoplastic with conductive fibers, the housing combines mechanical durability, chemical resistance, and electrostatic dissipation, while the outer sleeve, retaining chain, and screws are made from corrosion-resistant stainless steel (AISI 303/304). The housing accommodates proximity probes and their extension cables, enabling external access for gap adjustments or probe replacement without disassembling the machine. The assembly has been certified by BASEEFA to withstand two separate 4 Joule (3.0 ft·lb) impacts at extreme temperatures (-39°C to 115°C). Its design ensures compliance with API 670 standards and allows integration with intrinsically safe systems in hazardous environments when combined with approved transducers and I.S. barriers.
