Description

The 21000, 24701, and 164818 Proximity Probe Housing Assemblies are designed to offer robust and reliable solutions for hazardous and space-restricted environments. These housings are equipped with Canadian Standards Association (CSA) approvals and are rated explosion-proof, making them an ideal choice for applications in hazardous areas.

For applications requiring intrinsically safe operations, the 21000 aluminum and 24701 stainless steel housings are available, both certified as CSA Type 4 enclosures. These housings fully comply with the American Petroleum Institute’s (API) 670 Standard for externally mounted proximity probe housings, ensuring they meet stringent industry requirements for safety and performance.

The 164818 Compact Proximity Probe Housing is a versatile option, especially for applications where space is at a premium. It allows for the integration of ceramic capped probes, offering increased protection and durability in high-temperature environments.

The sleeve length for these housings is tailored to the specific installation site, ensuring optimal performance based on the operational conditions. When selecting the appropriate sleeve length, it is important to note that the probe lead should be longer than the sleeve itself to maintain effective signal transmission.

For installations requiring longer sleeve lengths exceeding 304 mm (12 inches), additional support is necessary to minimize vibration and ensure long-term stability. Bently Nevada offers an optional probe support and oil seal (part number 37948-01) for long sleeves that must pass through an inner bearing housing. Additionally, custom sleeve supports can be provided upon request to meet unique application needs.

Applications

1.Versatility for Multiple Mounting and Installation Needs

The housing is equipped with a 3/4-14 NPT mounting thread, which enables easy and flexible integration into various machinery. This feature makes the housing ideal for applications where versatility and adaptability are essential. The 3300 XL Proximity Probe Housing Assemblies offer easy installation in a wide range of equipment configurations, providing significant flexibility for industrial monitoring systems.

2.High-Temperature and Harsh Environment Suitability

Designed to operate in extreme temperatures ranging from -51°C to +177°C (-60°F to +351°F), this proximity probe housing assembly can withstand harsh environmental conditions. Its robust aluminum body and stainless steel sleeve provide excellent protection against high temperatures, making it suitable for use in high-temperature applications, such as power plants, refineries, and heavy manufacturing environments.

3.Reliability and Long-Term Performance

The system’s low supply sensitivity of 7.87V/mm (200mV/mil) ensures stable and reliable performance over extended periods, even in environments prone to vibrations or other challenging conditions. This, coupled with the strong material composition, ensures the longevity and accuracy of the housing and probe system, minimizing the risk of operational downtime and reducing maintenance costs.

4.Efficient Cable and Field Wiring

The housing assembly supports field wiring with a range of 16-24 AWG (2mm), allowing for efficient and secure connections to the monitoring system. Its flexible design ensures the probe is easily integrated into complex industrial wiring configurations, streamlining installation and reducing downtime.

Competitive Advantage

1.Durable Construction for Long-Term Reliability

Constructed from high-quality aluminum and stainless steel materials, the 3300 XL Proximity Probe Housing Assemblies are engineered for long-term performance in challenging environments. These materials are resistant to corrosion and wear, ensuring that the housing remains operational with minimal maintenance. This durability reduces downtime and service requirements, leading to lower overall operational costs and a higher return on investment.

2.Compact Design with Reduced Weight for Ease of Use

Weighing only 1.1 kg (2.4 lb) without fittings, the 3300 XL housing assembly has a compact and lightweight design that makes handling and installation easier. This lightweight nature minimizes installation time and labor costs, particularly in environments where space is constrained. Despite its size, it provides the robustness needed for reliable performance, ensuring that it is both practical and efficient for use in confined or difficult-to-reach areas.

3.Precision Measurement for Critical Applications

Offering a linear range of 0.25mm to 2.3mm and a supply sensitivity of 7.87V/mm (200mV/mil), the 3300 XL housing delivers highly precise measurements. This sensitivity ensures that even the smallest vibrations or shifts in equipment can be accurately detected, providing early warning signals for potential failures. This precision is crucial in applications requiring constant monitoring, such as in gas turbines, rotating equipment, and critical machinery, reducing the risk of unexpected downtime and expensive repairs.
