Description
The 991-25-70-01-00 Thrust Transmitter is a high-precision, loop-powered axial displacement monitoring device designed for industrial automation and machinery protection systems. This transmitter is engineered to accept input from a 3300 NSv Proximity Probe and its extension cable and converts axial shaft movement into a standard 4–20 mA signal for direct integration with control and monitoring systems. With a full-scale range of ±25 mils (0.635 mm) and a linear output range from 0.25 to 1.65 mm (10–65 mils), it delivers highly accurate thrust measurements suitable for centrifugal air compressors, small pumps, motors, and fan shafts. The device operates reliably over temperatures from -35°C to +85°C, with a potted construction that resists up to 100% condensing humidity, making it suitable for harsh industrial environments. It features non-interacting zero and span adjustments, a dynamic vibration/Prox Out coaxial output for diagnostics, a Power-up Inhibit circuit to prevent line transient errors, and a Not OK/Signal Defeat circuit to avoid false alarms from faulty probes or connections. The transmitter supports flexible mounting via DIN-rail clips or bulkhead screws, and the integrated Proximitor Sensor eliminates the need for separate units, simplifying installation in compact machinery housings.
Applications
1. Centrifugal Air Compressors
Provides continuous axial thrust measurement on high-speed compressor shafts, ensuring early detection of misalignment or bearing wear.
2. Small Pumps and Motors
Monitors axial displacement in pumps and motor shafts to prevent mechanical failure, supporting predictive maintenance.
3. Fan Shaft Protection
Measures axial movement in fan assemblies for HVAC or process applications, integrating into automation systems with 4–20 mA outputs.
4. Compact Machinery Installations
Compatible with tight-clearance machinery, leveraging the 3300 NSv probe to fit small housings or side-view restricted areas.
5. Diagnostic and Control Systems
Supports dynamic Prox Out signals for vibration analysis and loop verification using test input pins, enhancing real-time machinery diagnostics.
