Description
The 990-05-XX-01-00 Vibration Transmitter is a two-wire, loop-powered device designed for automated machinery monitoring and OEM applications. It accepts input from a 3300 NSv Proximity Probe with a system length of up to 7 meters, converting vibration signals into a 4–20 mA proportional output. The transmitter measures vibration amplitudes from 0.25 to 1.65 mm (10–65 mils) and full-scale options up to 0–125 μm pp, providing precise peak-to-peak monitoring.
Operating from –35 °C to +85 °C with storage from –52 °C to +100 °C, the 990-05-XX-01-00 supports harsh industrial environments. Its 10 kΩ Prox Out impedance (calibrated for 10 MΩ load) and 23 mA typical current limiting ensure accurate signal transmission. DIN-rail or bulkhead mounting options simplify installation, and a test input pin allows quick loop verification. The transmitter also features a Not OK/Signal Defeat circuit to prevent false alarms from probe faults, making 990-05-XX-01-00 ideal for compressors, pumps, motors, and fans in automated control systems.
Applications
Paper and pulp mills: Monitor mechanical vibration of refiner and dryer bearings to prevent unexpected shutdowns.
Food and beverage plants: Monitor vibration of large industrial centrifuges and agitators to ensure production safety.
Chemical/pharmaceutical plants: Monitor the operational health of various motors and small rotating equipment in areas without explosion-proof or standard explosion-proof requirements.
Building automation: Monitor cooling tower fans and circulating water pumps in large central air conditioning systems.

Competitive Advantage
High Precision Measurement
Full-scale option of 0–125 μm pp and Prox Out impedance of 10 kΩ (calibrated for 10 MΩ load) ensures accurate vibration readings even in low-amplitude applications.
Harsh Environment Operation
Operating range –35 °C to +85 °C and storage range –52 °C to +100 °C allow 990-05-XX-01-00 to perform reliably in extreme industrial conditions.
Integrated Fault Protection
The Not OK/Signal Defeat circuit prevents false alarms from probe faults or loose connections, reducing unnecessary system downtime.
Low-Power, Two-Wire Design
Loop-powered 23 mA current requirement simplifies wiring, reduces power consumption, and facilitates integration into existing automated control networks.
Quick Installation and Maintenance
DIN-rail and bulkhead mounting options combined with the test input pin enable fast installation, calibration, and maintenance, minimizing operational disruption.
