Description
The 990-04-07-01-05 Vibration Transmitter is a high-performance industrial device engineered for real-time condition monitoring and predictive maintenance of centrifugal air compressors, pumps, motors, and fans. Designed for OEM integration, it accepts input from a 3300 NSv non-contacting proximity probe and extension cable, converting precise shaft vibration and displacement measurements into a proportional 4–20 mA output signal compatible with machinery control systems. The transmitter supports linear ranges from 0.25 to 1.65 mm (10–65 mils) for Prox Out, with full-scale vibration measurement up to 4 mils peak-to-peak (100 μm). The loop-powered 2-wire design operates with +12 to +35 Vdc, while output impedance of 10 kΩ is calibrated for 10 MΩ loads. With operating temperatures from −35°C to +85°C and storage up to −52°C to +100°C, the 990 transmitter is suitable for harsh industrial environments. DIN rail or bulkhead mounting options simplify installation, and integrated features such as non-interacting zero and span adjustments, test input, Not OK/Signal Defeat circuit, and potted housing for condensation protection ensure reliable operation in demanding applications. The transmitter’s design optimizes space and simplifies signal conditioning, providing accurate and robust vibration feedback for machinery protection, alarming, and process control.
Applications
Application 1: Centrifugal Air Compressor Vibration Monitoring
Monitors shaft vibration and bearing displacement in centrifugal air compressors, providing real-time 4–20 mA signals for machinery protection systems. Detects imbalance or misalignment, reducing unplanned downtime by up to 20%.
Application 2: Small Motor and Pump Condition Feedback
Provides proportional vibration feedback for small motors and pumps, enabling automated process control and predictive maintenance, preventing catastrophic failures with ±0.1 mil measurement accuracy.
Application 3: Fan Performance and Shaft Stability
Measures dynamic shaft movement in industrial fans, ensuring operational efficiency and stability, while integrating with DCS or PLC systems for real-time control adjustments.
Application 4: Compact Machinery Integration
Designed to operate in limited-space environments with minimal clearance, such as compact OEM centrifugal compressors, without sacrificing measurement precision or system reliability.
Application 5: Harsh Environment Industrial Use
Operates reliably in temperatures from −35°C to +85°C and condensing humidity conditions, with potted construction, making it suitable for chemical, petrochemical, and offshore applications.

Competitive Advantage
Competitive Advantage 1: Integrated Proximitor Sensor
Eliminates the need for a separate external unit, reducing installation complexity and space requirements, and improving measurement stability and signal reliability.
Competitive Advantage 2: Prox Out and Diagnostics
Non-isolated PROX OUT and coaxial connector allow dynamic gap and vibration voltage signal outputs for advanced diagnostic monitoring and troubleshooting.
Competitive Advantage 3: Signal Adjustment Flexibility
Non-interacting zero and span potentiometers allow precise loop adjustments without affecting other parameters, ensuring accurate calibration for OEM control systems.
Competitive Advantage 4: Safety and Fault Prevention
Not OK/Signal Defeat circuit prevents false alarms and high outputs due to faulty proximity probes or loose connections, enhancing reliability of critical machinery protection systems.
Competitive Advantage 5: Robust Environmental Design
Potted construction and DIN rail/bulkhead mounting options support 100% condensing humidity and industrial vibration, enabling long-term reliable operation in harsh or corrosive environments.
