Description
The 330881-16-04-132-03-02 PROXPAC XL Proximity Transducer is a self-contained 8 mm eddy current transducer assembly designed for high-precision vibration and position monitoring in rotating machinery. This assembly integrates a 3300 XL 8 mm probe with an internal Proximitor sensor, eliminating the need for separate extension cables and Proximitor housings. The PROXPAC XL housing is constructed from reinforced Polyphenylene Sulfide (PPS) with glass and conductive fibers, providing superior mechanical strength, electrostatic dissipation, and chemical resistance compared to traditional metal housings. With a linear range of 2 mm (80 mils) and a recommended gap setting of 1.27 mm (50 mils), it ensures accurate measurements of both radial vibration and axial shaft displacement. Designed to accommodate shafts from 50.8 mm (2 in) to 76.2 mm (3 in), the PROXPAC XL 132 mm probe penetration and 40 mm standoff adapter allow installation in tight or restricted spaces. Rated IP66 and Type 4X, the transducer withstands harsh industrial conditions, operating between -52°C and +100°C (-62°F to +212°F) while providing stable, low-noise output through a 50 Ω output resistance and 0.2–1.5 mm² (16–24 AWG) field wiring range. The integrated design simplifies installation, improves reliability, and supports automation, predictive maintenance, and machinery protection systems.
Applications
Rotating Turbomachinery Monitoring
The 330881-16-04-132-03-02 provides precise radial vibration and position feedback for turbines, compressors, turbo-expanders, and pump assemblies. Its 8 mm eddy-current sensing architecture enables high-resolution diagnostics for critical rotating assets.
Axial Thrust Position Measurement
The 2 mm linear range and optimized 1.27 mm gap allow the 330881-16-04-132-03-02 to track axial thrust displacement in gearboxes, motor-driven pump systems, and industrial blowers, enabling enhanced maintenance scheduling and reduced shaft wear conditions.
Keyphasor Signal Generation
The 330881-16-04-132-03-02 supports Keyphasor phase and speed measurements required for vibration analysis, order tracking, rotor balancing, and advanced diagnostics within automated maintenance and process optimization platforms.
Predictive Maintenance and Machinery Protection Systems
With IP66 and Type 4X durability and stable low-noise output, the 330881-16-04-132-03-02 integrates seamlessly into condition monitoring, DCS/PLC automation, and machine protection systems for high-value rotating equipment assets.

Competitive Advantage
Integrated Probe and Proximitor Design
By combining the probe and Proximitor sensor into a single enclosure, the 330881-16-04-132-03-02 removes external wiring dependencies, improving installation speed and reducing common failure points associated with cable assemblies.
Reinforced PPS Housing for Severe Environments
The reinforced PPS housing of the 330881-16-04-132-03-02 provides mechanical toughness, electrostatic dissipation, and chemical resistance superior to metal alternatives, delivering longer service life in corrosive and vibration-intense settings.
High Measurement Accuracy for Automation and Control
The 2 mm linear range, 1.27 mm gap, and 50 ohm output resistance collectively enable the 330881-16-04-132-03-02 to support high-precision diagnostics, predictive maintenance routines, and automated protection logic for industrial rotating equipment.
Extended Operating Temperature Range
With an operating window from -52°C to +100°C, the 330881-16-04-132-03-02 remains reliable in extreme thermal environments, including turbine skids, refinery compressor stations, and outdoor installations.
Compact Mechanical Integration
The 132 mm penetration length and 40 mm standoff adapter provide mechanical flexibility, allowing the 330881-16-04-132-03-02 to be deployed in retrofit, OEM, or upgrade scenarios where traditional proximity probe systems would encounter spatial limitations.
