Description
The 40 and 50 series basic units provide an incorporated battery buffer in order to save the necessary information for the next startup should there be a power drop or cut. The buffer battery is an usual in the trade Vanadium Lithium accumulator. It is soldered on a printed-circuit board inside the unit and qualified personnel can exchange it by themselves. The accumulator is 100 % charged after 12 operating hours without interruption. Its lifetime is between 6 and 15 years; it depends on how often and how long the power supply of the unit is switched off. The battery buffer time is 20 days at 25 °C. During that time data (e.g. flags) can be stored with power supply of the unit switched off. The status word %IW 1062.15 (EW 62,15), Bit 3 gives information on the status of the battery (0 corresponds to error, 1 corresponds to OK).
Applications
Power system: Used for monitoring and control in power plants and power grids.
Oil and gas: Used for production process control in oil and gas fields.
Chemical industry: For the automatic control of chemical production processes.
Manufacturing industry: Used for factory automation and production line control.
Building automation: Used for the control and management of building equipment.
Water treatment: Used to monitor and control parameters such as water quality and liquid level in water treatment systems.
Pharmaceutical industry: Used for monitoring reaction processes and controlling temperature and humidity.
Transportation: Automation control for fields such as automobile manufacturing and rail transit.

Competitive Advantage
The 07CT41 1SBP260022R1001 Central Extensible Basic Unit features a modular redundant architecture, supporting dual-machine hot standby and N+1 redundant power supply, with a critical control task switching time of less than 5ms. Its unique heat dissipation design, combined with a low-power chipset, ensures stable operation even at 60℃. Through its built-in web server, users can directly configure parameters and diagnose faults via a browser, greatly simplifying the debugging process. It is compatible with all ABB PLC and HMI products and can be seamlessly integrated into large-scale control systems such as AC800M and DCS600. It supports multiple industrial protocols including PROFIBUS-DP, PROFINET, and EtherCAT to meet automation needs of varying scales. Its real-time operating system achieves microsecond-level response accuracy, making it particularly suitable for applications requiring high-speed control, such as packaging machinery and CNC machine tools. It has obtained multiple international certifications, including CE, UL, and RoHS, ensuring compliant use worldwide.
